July 4th Parade

People who know nothing else about New Suffolk, know about the Fourth of July parade with its down home and witty floats, marching band, fire trucks, children and just plain folks who come out to wish the USA Happy Birthday.  Started years ago by a few brave souls who walked to the beach to read the Declaration of Independence. It has grown to an iconic event that draws participants and spectators from far and wide.  All are invited to participate, either individually or as part of a group.  The parade forms at the corner of Tuthill and New Suffolk Roads at 10:30 am and at 11 am will proceed down New Suffolk Road to the blinker, turn left onto Main Street, and end up at the Town Beach on the corner of Jackson and First Street.  As always, there will be music, a reading of the Declaration of Independence and a picnic sponsored by the Robin’s Island Foundation.  Rain Date July 5th.
